RESOLUTION NO. 997 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA,
WASHINGTON, AMENDING THE NON -UNION -POSITION LIST ESTABLISHED BY
RESOLUTION NO. 986 OF THE CITY.
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 986 of the City of Tukwila, passed
by the City Council on December 16, 1986, established a position
list for all non -union employees of the City, effective January
1, 1986 through December 31, 1986, and
WHEREAS, the Mayor's Office is responsible for the
administration of the personnel function of the city, and
WHEREAS, the the Mayor and City Administrator have, by
necessity, delegated numerous responsible human resource
administration functions to the Executive Secretary /Personnel
Assistant, including administrative policy and procedure
development, recruitment and testing, etc., and
WHEREAS, the duties assigned and successfully carried out
far exceed the grade level at which the Executive
Secretary /Personnel Assistant is currently compensated, and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Administrator should continue to
spend more time on top management functions and less time in the
day -to -day Administration of the personnel function, and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to compensate employees in
a fair and equitable manner consistent with the range and nature
of the duties performed, and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that a reclassification of
said position from grade ten (10) to grade eight (8) is in order,
NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA,
WASHINGTON, DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The non -union position list adopted as Attachment
A to Resolution No. 986, passed by the City Council on December
16, 1985, is hereby amended to read as set forth on Exhibit A
attached hereto and incorporated herein by this reference as if
set forth in full.
