Alhambra, California, came to Tukwila to investigate the site for a new
Hampton Inn, and
WHEREAS, Mr Poon settled on a site and worked with City staff to
resolve general issues on access and right -of -way, and
WHEREAS, he has found it fitting to donate a Tri- colored, clay horse
to the City This replica was made from the same clay as the original crafted
for the Emperor of the Teng Dynasty about 2,000 years ago
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON,
DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS
Mayor Van Dusen and the Tukwila City Council hereby accept the gift
of a Tri- colored, clay horse and express their thanks to Mr Robert Poon for
his thoughtfulness
A copy of this resolution is to be placed on file in the permanent
records of the City
regular meeting thereof this 5th day of October 1987

ORIGINAL TR I -COLOR HORSE WAS CRAFTED FOR THE EMPEROR OF THE TENG
DYNASTY ABOUT 2,000 YEARS AGO THEY ARE STILL IN EXISTENCE.
THE TENG DYNASTY WAS LOCATED I N LOK YOUNG CITY HOINAN PROV I ENCE,
CHINA. THIS AREA WAS VERY UNUSAL I N THAT IT WAS THE SITE OF NINE
DYNASTYS
This replica was made from the same clay as the original The clay is
quite special iin allowing very strong and true colors which heighten in
intensity with polishing.
The craftspersons are descendants of the same family who crafted the
original
