HomeMy WebLinkAboutRes 1071 - Policy for Use of Facility Replacement Fund JI I 1908 CITY OF TUKWILA WASHINGTON RESOLUTION NO. 1071 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, SETTING FORTH A POLICY FOR ESTABLISHING AND USE OF A FACILITY REPLACEMENT FUND. WHEREAS, Ordinance #14W, passed December 21, 1987, established a new 302 Fund for Facility Replacement, and WHEREAS, the City Council recognizes the need to replace, purchase, expand or build City facilities when necessary, and WHEREAS, the Council intends that Fund 302 be used for major building projects rather than for normal preventive maintenance. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: 1. Fund 302 can be used to purchase or build replacements for our City buildings and to purchase land on which to site those replacement buildings. 2. The Fund can also be used to expand, enlarge or reconstruct current or replacement buildings when those improvements exceed $100,000. 3. Existing facilities which serve as examples of the types of faci- lities for which Fund 302 monies can be spent include City Hall, Fire Stations 51 and 52, the Community Center, Public Works Administration and Maintenance Facilities, and the Library. 4. An actuary study should be commenced to determine the value of these existing facilities and to establish the appropriate funding level of Fund 302. 5. The City Council can vote to use other funds or use this fund alone or in conjunction with other funds to build major facilities.
