RESOLUTION NO. 1123 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON,
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY FOR REPAIRS ON 42ND
AVENUE SOUTH WHERE A SLIDE OCCURRED AT GILLIAM
CREEK AND AUTHORIZING $30,000 FOR RODARTE
CONSTRUCTION TO COMPLETE REPAIRS WITHIN FOUR
WORKING DAYS.
WHEREAS, a slide has undermined the paved shoulder on the east side of
42nd Avenue South where it crosses over Gilliam Creek, and
WHEREAS, this large slide threatens continuing deterioration with more
slides and erosion into the creek, and
WHEREAS, this poses sever danger to motorist and pedestrian traffic as well as
closing the road, and
WHEREAS, Rodarte Construction can place materials to stop the erosion and
slides, whic1i will stabilize the roadway as well as banks below the apartments and
freeway,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, HEREBY
RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
The repair for the 42nd Avenue South slide was declared an emergency by the
City Council on December 4, 1989. Rodarte Construction was authorized to make
the emergency repairs, and work was commenced on December 5.. 989.
RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASH-
INGTON, AT ITS REGULAR MEETING ON the mod` day of 1Q,. 1989.
