RESOLUTION NO. 1129 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA,
WASHINGTON, DECLARING AN EMERGENCY FOR
VARIOUS STREET REPAIRS, CAUSED BY HEAVY RAINS,
AND AUTHORIZING EMERGENCY EXPENDITURES.
WHEREAS, a substantial amount of rain damage was incurred on Tuesday, January
9, 1990, endangering motorists, pedestrians, residents, employees, visitors, and shoppers,
and
WHEREAS, extraordinary measures were undertaken to minimiz damage and
ensure the safety of the citizenry, and
WHEREAS, the City contacted various contractors by phone to assist with the
cleanup and damage repair effort. Among others the following contractors responded to
the City's request for service: Segale Construction, Green River Construction, and Rodarte
Construction.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWH A,
WASHINGTON, DO HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. On January 9, 1990, heavy rains caused damage to various streets in the
City of Tukwila, thereby causing an emergency situation and an estimated $250,000 in
damages.
Section 2. The Mayor is hereby authorized to expend an estimated $250,000 from
the Surface Water Management Fund to make any necessary repairs.
