RESOLUTION NO. 1145 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA,
WASHINGTON, ACCEPTING DONATIONS TO THE
POLICE DEPARTMENT FOR THE D.A.R.E. VAN FUND
FOR USE IN PROMOTING ABSTINENCE FROM
DRUGS AND THANKING THOSE WHO MADE
CONTRIBUTIONS.
WHEREAS, the following organizations have made financial contributions toward
the procurement of a 'Drug Abuse Resistance Education" (D.A.R.E.) vehicle:
Boeing Foundation $2,500
Skinner Foundation 1,000
M. A. Segale, Inc. 1,000
Green River Optimist Club 1,000
Pemco Insurance Company 1,000
Highline Exchange Club 1,000
Rhone- Poulenc Company 500
Deluxe Check Printers 500
Southcenter Rotary Club 500
Tukwila Rotary Club 500
South Central Kiwanis 200
WHEREAS, the following organizations have made "in kind" contributions to the
purchase, equipping, and development of the D.A.R.E. vehicle:
Glen Grant Chevrolet Van at cost
Ratelco Company Radio/Equipment Installation
Ramlyn Engraving Company Custom paint job
Territorial Supplies Equipment at cost
Cellular Systems Northwest/
Omni Electronics Cellular Phone and Installation
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Tukwila wishes to accept these
contributions and to recognize those who so generously made them, and
WHEREAS, the City Council deems it fitting to publicly acknowledge and record
the donations and express their appreciation upon the official record of this City.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA,
WASHINGTON, DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City of Tukwila hereby accepts the contribution of $2,500 to the
D.A.R.E. vehicle fund from the Boeing Foundation.
Section 2. The City of Tukwila hereby accepts the contribution of $1,000 to the
D.A.R.E. vehicle fund from the Skinner Foundation.
Section 3. The City of Tukwila hereby accepts the contribution of $1,000 to the
D.A.R.E. vehicle fund from M.A. Segale, Inc.
Section 4. The City of Tukwila hereby accepts the contribution of $1,000 to the
D.A.R.E. vehicle fund from the Green River Optimists.
Section 5. The City of Tukwila hereby accepts the contribution of $1,000 to the
D.A.R.E. vehicle fund from Pemco Insurance Company.
Section 6. The City of Tukwila hereby accepts the contribution of $1,000 to the
D.A.R.E. vehicle fund from the Highline Exchange Club.
Section 7. The City of Tukwila hereby accepts the contribution of $500 to the
D.A.R.E. vehicle fund from the Rhone Poulenc Company.
Section 8. The City of Tukwila hereby accepts the contribution of $500 to the
D.A.R.E. vehicle fund from Deluxe Check Printers.
Section 9. The City of Tukwila hereby accepts the contribution of $500 to the
D.A.R.E. vehicle fund from the Southcenter Rotary Club.
Section 10. The City of Tukwila hereby accepts the contribution of $500 to the
D.A.R.E. vehicle fund from the Tukwila Rotary Club.
Section 11. The City of Tukwila hereby accepts the contribution of $200 to the
D.A.R.E. vehicle fund from South Central Kiwanis.
Section 12. The City of Tukwila hereby accepts the contribution of reduced cost of
the D.A.R.E. vehicle from Glen Grant Chevrolet.
Section 13. The City of Tukwila hereby accepts the contribution of free installation
of radio /equipment in the D.A.R.E. vehicle from Ratelco Company.
Section 14. The City of Tukwila hereby accepts the contribution of free material
and overhead costs of custom paint job of the D.A.R.E. vehicle from Ramlyn Engraving.
Section 15. The City of Tukwila hereby accepts the contribution of reduced cost of
equipment for the D.A.R.E. vehicle from Territorial Supplies.
Section 16. The City of Tukwila hereby accepts the contribution of a cellular
phone and installation for the D.A.R.E. vehicle from Cellular Systems Northwest/Omni
Electronics.
Section 17. The City of Tukwila hereby expresses its gratitude and appreciation to
these organizations for their generous contributions. The City commends and recognizes
each of the contributors.
Section 18. A copy of this resolution is to be recorded in the permanent record of
the City and a certified copy of the resolution given to a representative to express the City
Council's appreciation for the contribution.
