O AN ORDINANCE TO PREVENT THE GROWTH AND SPREADING OF THISTLES WITHIN THE TOWN OF TUKWILA TO PROVIDE FOR THEIR DESTRUCTION: AND PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION HTRE07- BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF TUKWILA as f ollows Seotion'' It shall be unlawful for any owner or occupant of any occupied premises or any owner or agent having charge of any unoccupied premises Within the corporate limits of the Town of Tukwila to suffer or allow any Russian Thistle, Canadian Thistle; Tumbling Mustard and Bull Thistle to grow or blossom upon 'any premises owned or occupied by him or of which he shall have charge as agent. Section Two, It shall be the duty of the Town Clerk of the Town of Tukwila to publish each year during the mouth of May a notice requiring all owners, occupants or agents of premises within the corpora e 'limits of the Town of Tukwila to dig up, out down or otherwise destroy, and to keep out dorm, dug up- or otherwise destroyed, all Russian Thistles, Canadian hidaea, Tumbling Mustard, Bull Thistles on their premises; that such notice shall be 1 by posting a copy of same upon the town bulletin board and in two other public and conspicuous places within the Town of Tukwila. Section Three. Any person violating any provision of this ordinance shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be fined in any sum not exceeding Ten ($10.00) Dollars and costs. Section Four. In case of the refusal, neglect or failure of any owner, occupant, possessor, or the agent or such owner to out down, dig up or otherwise destroy any Russian Thistle, Can- adian Thistle, Tumbling Mustard and Bull Thistle, within ten (10) days after the publication of the notice an hereinbefore provided for, the Mayor may direct the Torn Marshall of the Town of Tukwila to enter upon such land and premiees and cause such weeds to to be cu.t down, dug up or otherwise destroyed; that said Town Marshall shall thereafter present a statement of the expense of such cutting, digging or destruction to the Town Clerk of the Town of Tukwila, including a description of the land, verified by,-oath;- that said Town Clerk shall forthwith mail said statement _to the owner, occupant, possessor or agent of the ownex:of the premises, if known, requiring him to pay the same within thirty (30) days; that in case such expense is not paid within said time the Town Clerk shall so report to the Council to the Town of Tukwila, who shall forward such claim, when certified under the hand of the Mayor and the Town Clerk and the seal of the Town of Tukwila, to the Bounty Treasurer of Ding County, Washington, for entry upon the tax roll against the lot, tract or parcel of ground upon which said work was done.
