RESOLUTION NO. 1174
Repealed by Res 1251 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, PROVIDING EXTENDED
DENTAL AND VISION COVERAGE FOR EMPLOYEES'
DEPENDENTS WHILE EMPLOYEES ARE ON MILITARY
LEAVE FROM THE CITY DUE TO "DESERT STORM
WHEREAS, the City of Tukwila has declared its support for all United States military
personnel who have been called to duty as a result of the Middle East war known as Desert
Storm, and
WHEREAS, the City of Tukwila "family" has members who are leaving to serve there
as a result of this conflict, and
WHEREAS, the City of Tukwila wishes to help ease the burden for those employees and
their families in the area of dental and vision coverage, which coverage is not provided through
the military;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA,
WASHINGTON, DO HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
That the City of Tukwila will hereby provide extended dental and vision coverage for
employee's dependents while the employee is serving on active duty, for a period not to
exceed one year from the date the employee is called to active duty.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the dental and vision benefits shall be at the level
and under the terms provided to the employee as if they were not on military leave from the City.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the premium cost for this coverage, if any, shall
be paid for by the City of Tukwila.
