A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, EXPRESSING SUPPORT
FOR KING COUNTY PROPOSITION #2,
REAUTHORIZING THE EMERGENCY MEDICAL
SERVICES LEVY FOR MEDIC 1.
WHEREAS, the Medic 1 system is funded with a six-year proposition tax levy that
was first approved by voters in 1979 and re- approved in 1985, and
WHEREAS, King County Proposition #2 seeks reauthorization of the levy for
another six years. The proposed levy rate of 250 per thousand of assessed value is the same
as in 1985, and
WHEREAS, it would cost the owner of a home valued at $155,000 only $38.75 a year,
less than $3.25 each month for this essential and viable service.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA,
WASHINGTON, DO HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
The City of Tukwila extends full support to the Medic 1 system as an indispensable
element of the County's emergency medical services and encourages passage of County
Proposition #2.
