A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, SUPPORTING THE
SOUTH CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 406 AND THE
HIGHLINE SCHOOL DISTRICT 401 SCHOOL PROGRAM
LEVY ELECTION AND URGING ALL ELIGIBLE VOTERS
TO VOTE FOR SCHOOLS IN THE FEBRUARY 4, 1992
SPECIAL ELECTION
WHEREAS, the South Central School District and the Highline School District will be
asking all residents to vote on the 1993 and 1994 school levy on February 4, 1992; and
WHEREAS, the School District levy is not a new tax, but a replacement of the two -year
general fund levy approved in 1990; and
WHEREAS, the school levy represents 20 percent of the District's operating budget each
year; and
WHEREAS, the public schools are an important and integral part of the City of Tukwila
community; and
WHEREAS, the strength of a community is measured by the schools it keeps; and
WHEREAS, the schools of the 1990's need broad citizen support to meet the diverse
needs of today's families and to help each student achieve his or her potential;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA,
WASHINGTON, DO HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS.
The City of Tukwila supports the South Central School District and the Highline School
District's school program levy election to be held on February 4, 1992 and urges all eligible
voters to vote for schools in the Febuary 4, 1992 special election.
