Tukwila City Hall Council Chambers SPECIAL MEETING CALL TO ORDER /PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: Calling the meeting to order at 8:50 p.m. was Mayor Steven M. Mullet. ROLL CALL: Calling the roll of Council was Bob Baker, Acting City Clerk. Present were Council President Richard Simpson; and Councilmembers Joe Duffle; Joan Hernandez; Pam Carter; Jim Haggerton; Pamela Linder, and Dave Fenton. OFFICIALS: John McFarland, City Administrator; Bob Baker, Acting City Clerk. CITIZEN COMMENT /CORRESPONDENCE: Cheryl Forbes. Secretary. Highline Citizens for Schools. thanked the Council for a supporting resolution before last years' (failed) bond measure efforts by the Highline School District. That measure failed by just .6 Ms. Forbes asked the Council to support the March 12 Special Election bond measure; wherein school improvements are sought in the amount of $189.5 million, with a $6 million loss, due to inflation. For consideration at the February 4, Regular meeting, Councilmember Carter spoke in favor of considering a similar resolution to that passed in 2001. NEW BUSINESS: A Resolution Expressing Support of Tukwila School District Levy Robert H. Baker, CMC Deputy City Clerk A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, SUPPORTING THE TUKWILA SCHOOL DISTRICT NUMBER 406, AND URGING ALL ELIGIBLE VOTERS TO VOTE FOR SCHOOLS IN THE FEBRUARY 5, 2002 SPECIAL ELECTION HAGGERTON MOVED; DUFFIE SECONDED; READING OF THE PROPOSED RESOLUTION, BY TITLE ONLY. The motion carried 7 -0. City Attorney Bob Noe read the title of the proposed resolution. DUFFIE MOVED; HERNANDEZ SECONDED; ACCEPTANCE OF THE PROPOSED RESOLUTION, AS PRESENTED. The motion carried 7 -0. APPROVED RESOLUTION #1482 ADJOURNMENT: 9:02 p.m. DUFFIE MOVED; FENTON SECONDED; TO ADJOURN. The motion carried 7 -0. Steven M.
