HomeMy WebLinkAboutRes 0006 - Oppose Certain Pacific Highway Street ImprovementsRESOLUTION NO. 6 A resolution of the City Council of the City of Tukwila. BE IT RESOLVED, by the Town Council of the Town of Tukwila; That, WHEREAS, it has come to the attention of the Council that the Board of County Commissioners of King County, Washing* propose to pave that portion of the New Pacific Highway between the Duwamisb and White River Bridges and within the limits of the Town of Tukwila, with cement alone and not with paving bricks as originally planned and contemplated, and FHITHEAS, under date of May llth, 1915, (0t the Council of the Town of Tukwila, by ordinance, granted unto King County a right of way for said highway through said Town, and, "'HEREAS, at the time of the granting of such right of way through the ordinance aforesaid it was understood, and the a of said King County so represented, that said highway would be paved with paving brick as such highway has been paved both to the North and South of Tukwila, and upon the consideration of such representation said ordinance was passed and said right of way granted, NOW, T:HERE:PORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That the Mayor of the Town of Tukwila be, and he hereby is authorized, to protest and object, on behalf of said Town, to this proposed unjust and unfair discriminationand to endeavor to persuade the said Board of County Commissioners of King County to carry out to its true intent the understanding had between said Board through its agents and this Town at the time of the passage of said ordinance and the granting of said right of way. Passed the Council of the Town of Tukwila and signed by me in authentication of its passage this 13 day of March, 1.917. Piled this 13th dad; of March, 1917.
