Doors open at 6pm and movie begins at 6:30pm. 25 City of Tukwila Jim Haggerton, Mayor INFORMATIONAL MEMORANDUM TO: Mayor Haggerton CAP Committee FROM: Bob Giberson, Public Works Director BY: Pat Brodin, Operations Manager DATE: June 19, 2012 SUBJECT: Historic Preservation Presentation ISSUE Julie Koler from King County will do a presentation on a program through King County Historic Preservation regarding potential landmarks in the City. BACKGROUND Significant historic and archaeological properties including buildings, sites, districts, objects, and structures can be protected through the King County Historic Preservation program. King County works with cities throughout the county to provide landmark designation and protection services. The potential benefits of participating in the program include: Cost effective delivery of professional services Preservation and enhancement of significant aspects of local history Access to incentives for property owners Access to state and federal funding sources for preservation Enhancement of community character At the City's option, services can be provided such as landmark designation and protection, preparation of landmark nomination applications, survey and inventory of historic properties, development design guidelines, and assistance with preservation planning work.
