f142: °S AS, the Council of the Town of Tukwila has heretofore
pa2sed Ordinance iso. 110, adopting a plan or system for a waterworks
system and the issuance of general and revenue bonds to pay therefor;
and,
WHEREAS, it at once becomes necessary for the Town of
Tukwila to secure competent engineering service to take charge of
the design, plans, specifications, :inspection, supervision and all
other engineering features involved in securing said waterworks
system; and,
/UE EAS, it is necessary for the Town of Tukwila to ascer-
tain the best location for the wells which will form the source of
the water supply before the bonds are voted and construction work
started;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the Town
of Tukwila:
(1) That the Council of the Town of Tukwila does hereby
employ the firm of WILLIS T. BATCH°LLER, INC., Consulting Engineers,
Seattle, •,ashington, to take charge of the engineering matters, as
outlined above, in connection with said Waterworks system; and,
(2) That said engineering firm is hereby authorized to
proceed with the necessary work incident to the obtaining of said
muiicipal waterworks system, including. contracting for the drilling
or digging of the necessary test well or wells for the purpose of
locating suitable water supply; and,
(3) That, in consideration of such services rendered by
the firm of WILLIS T. BATU} INC., in connection with said
system, the Town of Tukwila hereby agrees to pay said firm a fee
in the amount of ten (10) per cent of the total cost of said water-
works system, provided the bond issue authorized by Ordinance No.
110 is approved by the electors, of said Town.
(4) That in the event the aforementioned bond issue is
not approved by said electors, the Town of Tukwila hereby agrees
to pay the firm of WILLIS T. BATCHTiLLER, INC., for services ren-
dered in connection with preliminary plans, cost estimates, reports,
consultation, and supervision of test well construction, an amount
equal to one (1) per cent of the estimated cost of the waterworks
system; and the Town of Tukwila further agrees to pay the cost of
constructing the test well or wells, in accordance with contract to
be entered into with well construction coa'ipany.
