A RESOLUTION ENDORSING RSING ACTION O' REPRESENTATIVE ROAD CONNTTT SS OF
GEORGETOWN, 3ISR, RIVERTON, OST RR AND TU ILA.
-WHEREAS, members of the representative Road
Committees of the five communities, George-
town, Duwamish, Riverton, Foster and Tukwila,
believe that the improvement of primary im-
portance to our respective districts would
be the paving of the Airport Way extension
from Seattle City limits to the intersec-
tion of South One hundred Sixteenth Street,
a distance of approximately one mile.
AND WHEREAS, this improvement would provide
a direct route via Georgetown and South
Beattie to the City Center, thereby reliev-
ing and eliminating the heavy traffic and
hazardous conditions now existing,
AND WHEREAS, this improvement would again
bring to the merchants of Georgetown and
South Seattle a return of past business which
is rightfully theirs,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that we, the
Council cf the Town of Tukwila do hereby
endorse and recommend the action of the
Representative Road Committees of the
aforementioned bodies, and instruct that a
copy of this resolution be sent to the
Associated Improvement Clubs of the South
end of King County, and to the Consolidated
South Commercial Clubs and their Affiliates.
PASSED by the Council of. the Town of Tukwila
in regular session this eleventh day of.
June, 1937.
