Whreas Mr. Garland T. Jewell a Councilmember of the Town of Tukwila
and our friend has been called by death; and
Whereas Mr. Jewell during his years as Councilmember served the Town
of Tukwila faithfully in a capable and efficient manner devoting
a great amount of his time and energy toward the improvement
of the Town of Tukwila with no thought of recompense
or remuneration for himself; and
Whereas Mr. Jewell always cooperated with the members of the Council
to the fullest extent in all matters showing an unusual sense
of fairness and tolerance and making a unique contribution of
quick and able decisions and wise suggestions which are embodies in many of
the ordinances drawn up during his terms in the
Council; and
Whereas we who knew him feel his death a personal loss;
Now therefore be it resolved by the Town Council of the
Town of Tukwila
that we the Council of the Town of Tukwila do hereby express our
profound grief and sorrow and to the wife and sons and daughter
in this their hour of bereavement we extend our sincere
sympathy.
And be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution signed by
all the members of the Town Council be presented to the family
of Mr. Jewell as a momento of the high esteem in which we held him and will ever
remember him.
Passed the Town Council and apprved by the Mayor this second day
of September 1952.
