the Town of Tukwila as Councilman and as Street.and Water
Superintendent and has fulfilled the duties of his offioe
in a capable and efficient manner, devoting both time and
effort to the improvement of the Town; and
WHEREAS during the years he was Street and Water Superintendent he
worked harmoniously with the W.P.A.in the widening of the
streets, the laying of oement sidewalks and the establish►
ing amd improving of Tukwila Park:
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE TUKWILA TOWN COUNCIL
THAT we the members of the Tukwila Town Council express a sincere
vote of thanks and appreciation to Mr. August Thies for his
faithful and devoted service as publie servant during these
many years. He knew and understood the people and they in
turn admired him. At the Council table experience was in-
valuable and his 000l, considered and always fair and reason-
able opinions were sought and respected.
ASSO THAT we the members of the Tukwila Town Council wishing to
avail ourselves of Mr. Thies years of experience and of his
knowledge of Town affairs, confer upon hint the honorary title
of Councilman Emeritus.,
HE IT FtIRTHE: RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution„ signed by all
the members of the Council, be presented to Mr. Thies as a
memento of the,high esteem in which they hold him and also
of the nation taken by the Council of the Town of Tukwila.
PASSED the Town Council and signed by the Mayor and Councilmen this
4th. day of June, 1956.
