WHEREAS, there has been filed with the Town Council, a petition requesting an election to advance Tukwila from a Town of the fourth class to a city of the third class and requesting-re- organization and re- incorporation as a third class city and, WHEREAS the petition has been certified by the Town Clerk and the petition bears the signatures of qualified Tukwila electors and the number of signatures is over one -fifth (1 /5th) the number of votes cast at the last municipal election, and WHEREAS, the 1960 Federal Government Census, the popula- tion of Tukwila exceeded 1,800 people, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED": That the Mayor request the King County Auditor to provide for a special election on the advancement from a fourth class town to a third class city with said election to be held on Dr °,hefotta AUktst 1, 1961. PASSED by the Town Coucil and approved this 19th day of June 1961, and signed in authentication of its passage 1961. Actidg MAYOR COUNCILMAN
