HomeMy WebLinkAboutRes 0154 - Accept Donations for Firefighting Equipment and Facilitiescontribute certian of it's funds to the City of Tukwila for acquisitions of fire fighting equipment and facilities and, WHEREAS, the City of Tukwila is willing to accept a gift of said funds subject to the conditions that they be used soley for acquisition of certian fire fighting equipment and facilities described in the letter of Chief Donald P. Leahy dated August 8, 1962 incorporated herein by this ref- erence, and WHEREAS, both the doner and the donee' consider that a public advantage would be served by the acquisition of such equipment and facilities through the purchasing facilities and procedures of the City, NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED; That the City of Tukwila by this resolution does accept a donation of the sum of $5,000 (dollars) from the Tukwila Volunteer Fire Department subject to the conditions set forth in the above incorporated letter said funds shall be kept seperate and apart from any other funds of the City of Tukwila and the City Clerk and Treasurer are instructed to take action to accept this gift of funds from the Volunteer Fire Department and hold it, subject to further action of this Council. DATED this 13 day of August 1962 ATTEST: City Clerk RESOLUTION NO. 154 WHEREAS, the members of the Tukwila Fire Department desire to MAYOR President 91'the Council Mayor John St rander City Councilmen City of Tukwila Tukwila, Washington Dear Sirs: August 8, 1962 The members of the Tukwila Volunteer Fire Department wish to contribute to the City of Tukwila the sum of $5,000.00 which was the Department's income from the sale of fireworks. This money is to be used toward the purchase of the following items: 1. 15 ea. hats, coats and boots. 2. Installation of siren and wiring in Station 2. 3. Heating plant for Station 2. 4. Relay system to connect sirens. 5. Building for temporary housing of Station 2. The members of the department recommend the money be used toward the purchase of the above items in the order they are listed as the sum of $5,000.00 will not be sufficient to completely cover all items mentioned. We further recommend the above mentioned building should be constructed at the Tukwila Park site to be used temporarily as Fire Station 11 2 and later as a permanent park building. We are enclosing specifications for this building. If these conditions meet with your approval and you wish to accept this con- tribution, please let us know.
