REPEALED BY ORD 569
AN ORDINANCE TO PROHIBIT CERTAIN ANIMALS FROM RUNNING AT LARGE WITHIN
THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF TOWN OF TUKWILA; FOR THE IMPOUNDING AND
SALE OF CERTAIN ANIMALS FOUND RUNNING AT LARGE WITHIN THE CORPORATE
LIMITS OF THE TOWN OF TUKWILA AND DEFINING AND PROVIDING PUNISHMENT
FOR OFFERING IN CONNECTION THEREWITH.
Section 1. That cattle, horses, mules, seine, sheep, goats, fowls and
other domestic animals shall not be permitted to rur. at large within
the corporate limits of the To= of Tukwila.
Section 2. The Marshal or Poundmaster shall impound all animals found
running at large as prohibited by section 1 of this Ordinance, safely
keep and provide the same with food, and water until the possession of such
animals shall have been obtained by the owners thereof, or until the
r� same shall have been sold as hereinafter provided.
'ection 3. The tlarshal or Pbun.dmaster shall charge the owner of any G,-•
impounded animal One Lollar x1.00) fee and in addition thereto fifty 4 y/� e.,44
cents (x;.50) for each day or part of a day, computing from midnight,
it is detained, for- the care and feeding thereof, and shall take such
measures as shell be necessary to insure proper care and feeding.
Section 4. If, at the expiration of three (3) days, any impounded animal
shall not be released by the owner or keeper thereof by the payment
of the costs and fees herein provided, the La rshal or Poundmaster
shall proceed to give five (5) days' public notice, by posting three
(3) notices in conspicuous places within the corporate limits of the
Town of Tukwila, that such animal or animals will be sold at public
auction, at a. certain time and place, (naming the time and place), to
the highest and best bidder or bidders for cash. Such notice shall
state the name of the owner of the animal or animals, if the owner be
known, and a, copy thereof sheaf be served upon the owner, if he be
knovm and within the Town limits, at least five (5) days before the day
set Aor the sale of the animal or animals therein described. At the
time and place specified in the notice of sale, the Marshal or Pound-
master shall sell such animal or animals at public auction to the high9
est and befit bidder or bidders for cash, unless the same shall have been
redeemed by the pammert of the impounding fee or fees, and the cost of
keeping the same as above provided.
Section 5. 0ithinjive (5) days after such sale the Larshal or Poundmaster
shall file Edith, the Tovrn Clerk a complete report of his proce_-dings in
impounding and selling such animal or animals and shall pay to the Town
Treasurer the Proceeds arising from such sale, less the fees for im-
pounding such animal or aniipals and,the cosw df keeping the same, which
fe.es and costs-the ka.rsha:l or Poundmaster shall retain to his own use.
lection 6. ;.fter the sale of animals as provided in this Ordinance the
owner of the same, upon application to the Council of the J-'ot-�n of
Tukt;ila and the making of satisfactory proof of the ownership, shall
be entitled to a warrant dra-= upon the Treasurer for the net proceeds
of said sale, after deducting the impounding fee and the costs of keep-
ing any animal or animals as above provided.

Section 7. Any person, firm, compapy or corporation who shall permit
any of the animals or fowls mentioned in Section One of this Ordinance
to run at large in violation of the provisions thereof, shall be
deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be
fined in a sum not less than Five Dollars (.5.00) nor more than
Twenty -five Dollars (=25.00).
Section 8. If any person shall break open, or in any manner, directly
or indirectly, aid or assist in breaking open any pen or enclosure
with intent to release any animal, animals or fowls therein confined
pursuant to the provisions of this Ordinance, by the Ma rshal or Pound
master, such person shall, upon conviction thereof, be fined in a sum
not less than Five Dollars 05.00) nor more than Twenty -five Dollars.

Section 9. If any person shall hinder, delay, or obstruct the Marshal
or youndmaster or their a.ssittants in any duty herein enjoined, every
such person shall upon conviction thereof, be fined not less than live
Dollars (5.00) nor more than 'twenty -five Dollars (425.00).
Section 10. It shall be lawful for any person to detain and take up any
animal running a.t large contraty to the provisions of this Ordinance,
and deliver the.same to the Ilarahal or roundmaster, who' shall receive
such animal or �7.nimals and proceed in like manner as if the same had
been taken up by himself.
Section 11. That Ordinance Not 31 of the Ordinances of the Town of Tukwila
be, and the same is, hereby repealed.
Section 12. That this Ordinance shall become efaective from and after
the First day of September, 1t, D. 1913:
