RESOLUTION NO. 217
A RESOLUTION PROCLAIMING THE WEEK OF DECEMBER 1st
CIVIL AIR PATROL WEEK.
WHEREAS, the Civil Air Patrol, civilian auxiliary of the
United .States Air Force, is dedicated to volunteers public service in
the interest of national welfare; and
WHEREAS, the men and women of Tukwila Composite Squadron
have given their time and their resources to the relief of suffering and
to the succor and aid of their fellow Americans through the performance
of air and ground search and rescue and by flying humanitarian and
mercy missions; and
WHEREAS; these same civilian volunteers are helping conduct
an effective national program of aerospace education and training for
our youth; and
WHEREAS; December 1st, 1968, marks the 27th anniversary of
the founding of this unigxe civilian organization dedicated to the
service of humanity;
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved that the City Council of the
City of Tukwila proclaims the week of December 1st, 1968, as "CIVIL
AIR PATROL WEEK" and does hereby call upon all citizens of the City
of Tukwila, Washington to observe this week with appropriate ceremonies
designed to honor the men, women, and cadets of the Tukwila Composite
Squadron of the Civi]. Air Patrol.
ADOPTED BY the City Council of the City of Tukwila this
4th day of November, 1968.
