AN ORDINANCE CREATING THE OFFICE OF SUPERINTENDENT OF PUBLIC
STREETS, PROVIDING FOR THE APPOINTMENT OF A SUITABLE PERSON THEREFOR,
AND FIXING HIS COMPENSATION.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE
TOWN OF TUKWILA.
Section 1. That the Office of Superintendent of Public Streets be and
the sane is hereby created.
Section 2. That the duties of the said Superintendent of Public Streets
shall consist, in addition to ordinary labor, in-super-
vision of the construction of all Public Streets, Alleys,
Sewers, Ditches, Drains, Bridges and Trestles or any other
street improvements.
Section 3. That the compe nsation of the Superintendent of Public Streets
be and the same is hereby fixed in the sum of Two Dollars
and .:seventy -five cents (2.75) per day; eight (8) hours
of each calendar day, excepting Sundays and holidays to
constitute a day. Provided however, that no compensation
shall be paid the Superintendent of Public Streets for
such time as such Officer is not actually employed in
the discharge of his duty.
Section 4. That the `=ayor be and he herby is empowered to appoint a
suitable person to the Office of Superintendent of Public
Streets, said person to hold office during the pleasure
of the Aayor.
Section 5. This Ordinance shal._ take effect from and after five (5)
days fro,T1 the date of its publication.
Passed the Town Council and signed me in open session in
authentication of its passage, this 12th day of September 1911.
