HomeMy WebLinkAboutRes 0233 - Member Cities of Suburban Mayors AssociationC!TYOF UKWLA WASHINGTON RESOLUTION NO. 233 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, as follows: The City of Tukwila shall join with the member cities of the Suburban Mayor's Association in retaining special legal council in bringing legal action against the Director of the Seattle -King County Department of Public Health and any other appropriate party or agency to accomplish, among other things, the following goals: A. To enjoin the unilateral and illegal deduction from 1968 and 1969 tax allotments of monies for alleged services performed by the Seattle -King County Health Department, and B. To require an accounting to each member city for alleged health services performed during the year 1968 and 1969, and C. To seek recovery of monies paid by the city for health services not performed for the years 1967 or 1968 or 1969,. and D. To test the constitutionality of Chapter 51, First Extraordinary Session Laws, 1967, (RCW Chapters 70.05 and 70.46), and E. To seek arbitration on the question of monies allegedly due for health services allegedly performed, and F. To take any other legal action that will protect the welfare and interests of the citizens of the member cities of the Suburban Mayor's Association. It is further resolved that the City of Tukwila, joining in this action, shall pay a pro -rata share of the expenses of any litigation in accordance with the city's population.
