WHEREAS, Kate Johns:bn: has been employed by the City of
Tukwila police department and has at the request of the head
of the Police Department done extra work for which she is en-
titled to compensatory time off, and
WHEREAS, such extra work was necessary for the welfare of
the citizens of Tukwila, and totalled 64 hours, and
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 634 of the City of Tukwila provides
that Police Department personnel cannot accumulate compensatory
time in excess of 32 hours, and
WHEREAS, an exception should be made to this provision in
order to prevent an injustice to Kate Johnson,
NOW, TFIEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA
Resolve as follows:
1. That Kate Johnson be compensated for the 64 hours
extra work performed by her by allowing her 32 hours compensatory time
off, and
2. That she be paid for the remaining 32 hours at her regular
hourly rate of compensation.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON
and approved by the mayor at a regular meeting thereof, this 1st
day of May, 1972.
