HomeMy WebLinkAboutRes 0298 - LID (Local Improvement District) - Lower Foster Area ImprovementsCITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON RESOLUTION NO. 298 A RESOLUTION of the City Council of the City of Tukwila, Washington, declaring its intention to improve the Lower Foster area both within and without the corporate limits of the City by the construction and installation of certain trunk and lateral sanitary sewers and to create a local improvement district to assess a part of the cost and expense of carrying out such improvement against the property specially benefited thereby; and notifying all persons who desire to object to the project to appear and present their objections at a meeting -Ci y Goune4 to be held on July 10, 1972. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, as follows: Section 1. It is the intention of the Council of the City of Tukwila, Washington, to order the improvement of the property within the corporate limits of the City of Tukwila, Washington, more particularly described in Exhibit A attached hereto and by this reference made a part hereof, and the unincorporated territory adjacent to the City's corporate limits, more particularly described in Exhibit B attached hereto .and by this reference made a part hereof, by constructing and installing the trunk and lateral sewers to serve the property within the corporate limits of the City, more particularly described in Exhibit C attached hereto and by this reference made a part hereof, and the trunk and lateral sewers to serve the property outside the corporate limits of the City, more particularly described in Exhibit D attached hereto and by this reference made a part hereof. All of the foregoing shall be in accordance with the plans and specifications therefor prepared by Harstad Associates Inc., consulting engineers to the City. Section 2. The total estimated cost of such improvement is hereby declared to be $332,500.00 of which $106,500.00 is allocated to the portion of the improvement included within the corporate limits of the City and $226,000.00 is allocated to the portion of the improvement outside the corporate limits of the City. Approximately $100,000.00 of the total cost and expense of such improvement is anticipated to be received by way of a grant from the United States of America, Department of I-Iousing and Urban Development. The entire remaining portion of the cost and expense of such improvement shall be borne by and assessed against the property specially benefited by such improvement to be included in a local improvement district to be established embracing as near as may be all property specially benefited by such improvement. Section 3. All persons who may desire to object to the improvement herein described are hereby notified to appear and present such objections at a meeting of the City C uncii to be held in the Council Chambers in the City Hall, Tukwila, Washington, at 8:00 o'clock p.m. (PDT), on July 10, 1972, which time and place are hereby fixed for hearing all matters relating to the proposed improvement, and all objections thereto, and for determining the method of payment for that improvement. Section 4. Harstad Associates Inc., consulting engineers, are hereby directed to submit to the City Council on or prior to the 10th day of July, 1972, all data and information required by law to be submitted. The foregoing resolution was ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Tukwila, Washington, at a regular open public meeting thereof this 5th day of June, 1972.
