RESOLUTION NO. 320
RESOLUTION DETERMINING THAT ESTABLISHMENT
OF CERTAIN "UNIFORM AND SPECIAL CLOTHING"
DESCRIPTION AND DEFINITION THEREOF SHALL
BE STANDARDIZED.

WHEREAS, The City Council of the City of Tukwila,
Washington, has heretofore established a budget classification for
"Uniforms and Special Clothing" for the uniformed personnel of the
City and such classification and allowances therefor being deemed
necessary and in the public interest, and
WHEREAS, The personnel and the requirements of such
uniforms, clothing and equipment are subject to change and modifica-
tion from time to time,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED By the Mayor and the City
Council of the City of Tukwila, Washington, as follows:
Section 1. It is hereby found and determined that the
establishment of certain "uniform and special clothing" description
and definition thereof shall be standardized:
A. The following items of "Uniforms and Special Clothing"
are hereby established as the proper and necessary items for the
Fire Department of the City of Tukwila, subject, however, to the
limitations of the City's budget classification therefor and as
otherwise provided by law:
Said items being contained in Exhibit A, which is
attached hereto and made a part hereof as if
fully set forth.
B. The following items of "Uniforms and Special Clothing"
are hereby establshed as the proper and necessary items for the
Police Department of the City of Tukwila, subject, however, to the
limitations of the City's budget classification therefor and as
otherwise provided by law:
Said items being contained in Exhibit B, which is
attached hereto and made a part hereof as if fully
set forth.
Whenever any amendments or modifications are necessary
or required to be :made on the foregoing lists of "Uniforms and
Special Clothing" then the Chief of the Police or Fire Department,
or their authorized representatives, shall promptly advise the
City Council of such change or modification so that appropriate
amendments may be considered to this Resolution.
It is further provided that the special allowances herein
made shall only apply for such clothing, apparel or special equip-
ment for members of the uniformed personnel departments that are
reasonably necessary to or incidental to their particular job
assignment.
This Resolution to be in full force and effect on
January 1, 197.5.
Section. 2. All other Ordinances or Resolutions in con-
flict herewith are hereby repealed.

All protective clothing shall be furnished by department. All ornaments shall
be furnished by the department. All special breathing apparatus shall be furnished
by the department. Patches and Name Tags shall be furnished by the department.
All uniforms shall conform to established standards used in the department.
