Resolution 340
WHEREAS the Tukwila City Council endorsed the ballot
measure put to the voters on September 18, 1972,
to create a county -wide transit system;
Whereas the City Council made that endorsement with
the understanding that the dollars raised in King County
by the levy of an additional .3% in the retail sales tax
would be matched by the State of Washington on a dollar
for dollar basis;
Therefore, be it resolved that: The Tukwila City Council
approves and endorses the statement of policy adopted by
the Metro Council on Monday, April 2, at an emergency
meeting, calling on the state to keep its promise of long-
term funding assistance for local transit systems.
A copy of this resolution be immediately forwarded to
the Governor of the State of Washington, the Clerk of
the House and the Secretary of the Senate.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON on
this 2nd day of April, 1973.
