RESOLUTION NO 357
CITY OF TUKWILA
A RESOLUTION OPPOSING EXPANSION OF THE SEATTLE
PORT DISTRICT TO INCLUDE PORTIONS OF THE CITY
OF TUKWILA.

WHEREAS The Port of Seattle has publicly announced its
intent to extend the Seattle Port District to include parts of
the City of Tukwila, and
WHEREAS This will adversely affect the current and future
economic development of the City and eliminate the existing bene-
ficial competitive business climate and
WHEREAS Such a development will remove property from the
tax rolls and
WHEREAS The contemplated action of the Port of Seattle
threatens to destroy existing green belt areas in the City, such
as the Foster Golf Course and the Codiga Property,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA
RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
That they are opposed to the threatened encroachment
by the Seattle Port District upon the industrial and green belt
areas of the City of Tukwila and will employ all means at their
disposal to prevent. it.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL And approved by the Mayor at
a regular meeting thereof this 2nd day of July, 1973.
