WASHINGTON
RESOLUTION NO 384
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING ACCEPTANCE OF DONATIONS
TO BE USED BY THE CITY OF TUKWILA TO ACQUIRE
PROPERTY ADJOINING THE LOIS T. NEWTON BRIDGE
SITE TO BE USED FOR A CITY PARK OR OTHER
MUNICIPAL PURPOSE.
WHEREAS, Extension of Strander Boulevard East across the
Green River by construction of the Lois T. Newton Bridge has
stimulated the growth of the commercial and industrial areas of
the City of Tukwila, and
WHEREAS, The cost of acquiring the site for construction
of the Lois T. Newton Bridge has exceeded sums available for that
purpose, and
WHEREAS, The commercial and industrial communities of the
City have undertaken to supplement the resources of the City by
donations of funds to be used for purchase of the bridge site
property and an adjoining area, and
WHEREAS, The property so purchased, which is not actually
used for the bridge site will become a City park or be used for
other City purposes,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA,
WASHINGTON, RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
That a donation to be used for the purposes outlined
above is hereby gratefully accepted by the City of Tukwila from
N. C. MACHINERY COMPANY $500.00
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA,
WASHINGTON, And approved by the Mayor at a regular meeting
thereof this 5th day of November, 1973.
