An Ordinance for the improvement by laying sidewalk on the West
side of Main Street, between Highland Drive and Clarence Avenue, in
the Town of Tukwila:
Be it ordained by the Council of the Town of Tukwila:
Section 1. That the West side of Main Street,. between High-
land Drive and Clarence Avenue, in the Town of Tukwila, shall be
improved by the laying of a sidewalk thereon, in accordance with
Ordinance Eo. 5, of the Town of Tukwila.
Section 2. That there is hereby established a local improve-
ment District, to be designated as "Local Improvement District No.,
1 which said district is described as follows:
All the property abutting, adjacent or approximate to
said portion of Main Street, South of the south line of Highland
Drive, to the North line of Clarence Avenue, more explicitly describe
as Lots Eleven (11) to Twenty (20) inclusive in Block Seven (7),
and Lots Fifteen (15) to to Twenty -eight (28) in Block Six (6),
Hillman's Seattle Garden Tracts.
The property included in the said local improvement dis-
trict and none other shall be deemed to be, and shall be, the prop-
erty specially benefitted by the said improvement, and the total
cost and expenses of the improvement herein ordered, including all
necessary incidental expenses, shall be defeayed by the collection
of a special assessment upon the immediate payment plan, against
the property included in said local improvement district.
Section 3. Provided that nothing herein contained shall be
construed as prohibiting the abutting property owner from doing this
work himself, under the restrictions of Ordinance No. 5, and the
supervision of the regularly appointed officer or committee in charge
of the building of sidewalks.
Section 4. This Ordinance shall take effect on and after
five (5) days from its publication.
Passed the Town Council this 29th day of September, A.D.1908,
and signed by me in open session in authentication of its passage,
this 29th day of September, A.D.1908.
