An ordinance to license and regulate circuses, side shows, operas, concerts, theatres, shows, exhibitions and other public amusements to provide for violations of its provisions. Ordinance 8 was amended or repealed by the following ordinances. AMENDED REPEALED B 569 ORDINANCE NO 8 Repealed by Ord 569 An Ordinance to licenseand regulate circuses, ti concerts, theatres, shows, exhibitions and other pub to provide for violations of its provisions.- Pe it Ordained by the Council of the Town of Ti1 wil_ Section 1. All circuses, sideshows, operas, concerts.,theatres shows, exhibitions, and other public a musementS, hereafter= conducted in the Town. of Tukwila, -shall be lioensed and taxed at thefollowing rates, viz: The license fee for the exhibiting of any circus, menagerie, hippodrome or sideshow in the Town of Tukwila shall be as follows For any Circus, Hippodrome or Menagerie, with a seat -:jF ing capacity of not more than 1,000 and not less than. 300, and charging an admittance of 1.00, $25.00 per day: For any Circus and Menagerie with a seating capacity of not more than 500 and not less than00, and charging= an admittance not to exceed 50 cents, $12.50 per day., •r For any Circus wit Menagerie or Hippodrome, with: a seating capacity of no more than 500 and not less than 200, charging an admittance not to exceed 50 cents, $15.00 per day. For anyone -ring Circus with a seating capacity_.not:to exceed 500, charging an admittance not to exceed 50 cents, $12:50 per day. For any Side -show exhibiting on..the same ground the Circus and charging an admittance, $5.00iper day. Section 2. Hawkers shall pay a license of $5.00 per day or $25 :00 per week, and any other person other than a duly licensed._' Auctioneer who offers goods, wares and merchandise or other personal property for sale by outcry on the streets, or who shall conduct business from a stand or wagon on the street or within the corporate of the Town of Tukwila shall be deemed to be a hawker under this section. That peddlers and itinerant vendors of goods, wares and merchandise and other personal property shall pay a license. of $5.00 per day or $25.00 per week. All persons who shall offer for sale by retail in the corporate limits of the Town of Tukwila, goods, wares and merchandise, upon the streets from wagons, from stands, or in private or public rooms, whether such rooms be rented temporarily for such purpose or not, shall be deemed peddlers and itinerant venders under this ordinance,, provided that this ordinance shall not apply to farmers, rAnchers, and mechanics who peddle the product of their farms, ranches or workshops, except peddlers of fish, who shall pay a license of $2.00 per month. Section 3. All theatres, shows and other exhibits and public amusements shall be licensed and taxed as follows: minstrel Every theatrical show, concert, other troupe, shall':: pay a license tax of $2.50 for one day or night's enter- tainment and $5.00 for three successive days or nights, provided that this section shall not apply to exhibitions gotten up by home talent exclusively. Section 4. Auctioneers shall pay a license•of $3.00 per day.._ Every person shall be deemed an Auctioneer within the meanin of this ordinance, whose business it to offer property sale at public outcry or auction to the highest bidder,= provided that this section shall not apply to judicial: executive officers making auction sales by- virtue of any,'::: judgment or decree of any court, nor public. sale made executors and administrators. Section 5. It shall be-the duty of the Marshall.to..see -tha every person carrying -on any business" for which. license t 1 theatres shows o and _public Section 4. Auctioneers shall pay a license of :3.00 per day, Every person shall be deemed an Auctioneer within the meaning of this ordinance, whose business it is to offer property for sale at public outcry or auction to the highest bidder, provided that this section shall not apply to judicial or executive officers making auction sales by virtue of any judgment or decree of any court, nor public sale made by executors and administrators. Section 5. It shall be the duty of the Town Marshal to see that every person carrying on any business for which a license is required by this ordinance, has procured a license and to see that all theatres, shows, other exhibitions and public amusements shall have paid as in this ordinance prescribed and the license issued in accordance therewith. Section 6. Any peddler, hawker, or auctioneer who shall exercise his calling or business, or any person or persons connected with any theatre, show or exhibition, who shall conduct, manage, or take part in such theatre, show or exhibition for which a license is is required under this ordinance, without first obtaining such a license, shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof, shall be fined in any sum not exceeding $50.00 and costs of prosecution, or be imprisoned for a term not exceeding thirty days, or by both such fine and imprisonment. Section 7. This ordinance shall take effect from and after five (5) days from the date of its publication.
