RESOLUTION NO. 443
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE AN
AGREEMENT WITH KING COUNTY REGARDING LAW AND
JUSTICE PLANNING AND THE DISTRIBUTION OF CERTAIN
LAW ENFORCEMENT ASSISTANCE FUNDS.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON,
RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
That Frank Todd, Mayor, be and he is hereby authorized
to execute on behalf of the City of Tukwila an agreement with
King County regarding law and justice planning and the distribu-
tion of certain law enforcement assistance funds, a copy of which
said agreement is attached hereto and incorporated herein by
reference.

WASHINGTON, And approved by the Mayor at a regular meeting thereof
this 8th day of July, 1974.

AGREEMENT
THIS AGREEMENT, entered into this day of January, 1975, by and
between, THE CITY OF BELLEVUE, THE CITY OF BOTHELL, THE CITY OF KIRKLAND, THE
CITY OF REDMOND, THE CITY OF RENTON, THE CITY OF ISSAQUAH, THE CITY OF KENT,
and THE CITY OF TUKWILA, all Municipal Corporations of the State of Washington.,
WITNESSETH:
WHEREAS, the parties hereto desire to provide public defender services
to indigent defendants charged with violations of City ordinances within
their respective jurisdictions, and
WHEREAS, the parties hereto desire to obtain funding to finance said
services, and
WHEREAS, it is desirable that the parties hereto obtain a grant to
provide said funding, now, therefore,
IT IS HEREBY MUTUALLY PROMISED AND AGREED:
1. The City of Bellevue shall file an application, on behalf of the
parties hereto, with the Law and Justice Planning Office of the Office of
Community Development of the State of Washington for a grant under the
Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 1968. Any grant funds so
obtained shall be used solely for the purposes specified in said application,
which is attached hereto as Exhibit A and by reference, incorporated herein.
2. Said application has been prepared on behalf of the parties by
the City of Bellevue, and is hereby approved by all parties to this
agreement.
3. City of Bellevue shall have responsibility for the preparation
and submission of any progress reports and reimbursement requests required
under said grant.
4. Under the terms of said grant, if approved, each party will be
required to contribute matching funds, as more fully set out in Exhibit A.
Said matching funds shall be deposited with the City of Bellevue by each
party within ten days after receiving notice from Bellevue that said grant
has been awarded. All funds received under said grant shall be deposited
with the City of Bellevue, which shall act as manager of the same. The funds
received under said grant are intended to fund the services specified more
particularly in Exhibit A attached hereto. For each quarter of said period,
each party hereto shall submit to the City of Bellevue, in the manner
prescribed by the administrative office of the City of Bellevue in charge of
management of said grant fund, a request for reimbursement for costs
incurred. Reimbursement shall be made by the City of Bellevue after a review
of all requests by said administrative official, said reimbursement also to
be made on a quarterly basis.
5. Each party hereto will be responsible for executing, on its own
behalf, a contract with the King County Office of Public Defense for the pro-
vision of legal and related services.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties hereto have signed this agreement on the
date and year first above written.
