RESOLUTION NO. 444
CITY OF TUKWILA
RESOLUTION FIXING DATE FOR RECALL ELECTION
WHEREAS Petitions to recall Tukwila City Councilmembers
Jon Sterling, Catherine Harris, J. Reid Johanson, Dwight Gardner
and Joanne Davis have been certified by Ralph Dillon, King
County Elections Supervisor as bearing the requisite number of
signatures of certified legal voters, said certification being
in the form of a letter dated July 8, 1974, and received in the
City of Tukwila on July 9, 1974, and
WHEREAS, The City Council is the proper authority to
fix the date for a special election to determine whether or not
the Councilmembers charged shall be recalled and discharged from
office, and
WHEREAS, This matter was regularly placed upon the agenda
for the July 15th meeting of the Tukwila City Council and
WHEREAS, By motion duly made, seconded and carried, the
matter of fixing a date for the recall election was postponed until
the regular Council meeting of July 22, 1974, and
WHEREAS, This matter was regularly placed upon the agenda
for the meetingof July 22, 1974,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA,
WASHINGTON, RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
That the 17th day of September 1974, be and
the same is hereby fixed as the date for a special election to
determine whether Councilmembers Jon Sterling, Catherine Harris,
J. Reid Johanson, Dwight Gardner and Joanne Davis shall be recalled
and discharged from their respective offices.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA,
WASHINGTON, And approved by the Mayor at a regular meeting
thereof this 22nd day of July, 1974.
