RESOLUTION NO 483
RECOGNITION OF MUNICIPAL CLERK'S WEEK
WHEREAS, in order to best serve the citizenry, Municipal Government
must be operated with efficiency and in an orderly fashion; and
WHEREAS, the efficiency and order with which Government carries
out its public functions could not exist without records and procedures;
and
WHEREAS, the keepers of the records are those who work with these
procedures each day, the Municipal Clerks of our cities, towns and
villages; and
WHEREAS, they strive constantly to improve the administration of
affairs of the office consistant with applicable laws and through
sound management practices to produce continued progress and so fulfill
their responsibilities to the community,
NOW, THEREFORE, we, as Mayor and Council of the City of Tukwila,
Washington do hereby appeal to our Washington State Senators and
Congressmen to assist us in expressing our appreciation to all
Municipal Clerks in the State of Washington by working with Senator
Russell Long in the United States Senate; and Congressman M. Cladwell
Butler and G. Whitehurst in the House of Representatives to have the
President of the United States sign a Resolution observing the second
week in May of each year as Municipal Clerk's Week in the presence
of Mr. Kenneth Lybolt, President of the International Institute of
Municipal Clerks and James R. Bienvenu, International Chairman of
the Municipal Clerk's Week Committee.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON and
approve by the Mayor, at a regular meeting thereof this 5th day of May 1975
