RESOLUTION NO. 534
RESOLUTION FOR COMMENCEMENT OF AN
ANNEXATION PROCEEDING BY THE ELECTION
METHOD OF AN UNINCORPORATED AREA
KNOWN AS "LOWER FOSTER AREA"
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Tukwila has
determined that the best interests and general welfare of the
City of Tukwila would be served by the annexation of a certain
unincorporated territory contiguous to the City, commonly re-
ferred to as the "Lower Foster Area and more particularly des-
cribed in Exhibits "A" and "B both of which are attached hereto
and by this reference incorporated herein, and;
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Tukwila has
determined that the annexation proceedings should be initiated
within the provisions of RCW 35.13.015, providing for the elec-
tion method,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA
does hereby resolve as follows:
1. Annexation proceedings by the election method shall
be commenced as provided in RCW 35.13.015, covering an unincor-
porated area adjacent to the City of Tukwila, commonly known as
the "Lower Foster Area the legal description of which and a
map describing which are attached hereto and marked Exhibits "A"
and "B respectively, and are incorporated herein by this refer-
ence.
2. There are voters residing in the subject
annexation area, the "Lower Foster Area
3. An election should be held among the qualified voters
in the subject annexation area, "Lower Foster Area upon the
question of annexation and the City of Tukwila shall pay the cost
of the annexation election.
4. The City of Tukwila shall propose to the electorate
of the subject annexation area the proposition that upon annexa-
tion, all property within the area annexed shall be assessed and
taxed at the same rate and on the same basis as is the property
of the City of Tukwila as of the date of annexation.
5. The City, of Tukwila proposes to convert the exist-
ing King County zoning classifications within the subject area
to be annexed to the nearest similar city zoning classifications,

a. S -R to R -1 -12.0;
b. RM 2400 to R -3; and
c. B -C to C -2.

called the Point of Beginning.
Thence S89 °33'E a distance of 555 0 feet more or less to the True Point of
Beginning which is the intersection of the centerline of 53rd Avenue South
produced northerly, South 144th Street and the Tukwila City Limit Line;
Thence northerly along said centerline of 53rd Avenue South to the inter-
