RESOLUTION NO. 535
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO NEGOTIATE A
JOINT DISPATCH FACILITY PLAN FOR POLICE AND FIRE
DISPATCHING WITH ADJACENT VALLEY CITIES.
WHEREAS, the dispatching of Police and Fire Units to
perform necessary public safety functions is a responsibility of all
local jurisdictions; and,
WHEREAS, this responsibility can be performed in concert
with adjacent local jurisdictions to realize a more efficient system at
less cost to participating parties; and,
WHEREAS, authority exists to allow the creation of joint
facilities for the health and safety of the public,
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Tukwila,
Washington, does resolve as follows:
The Mayor is authorized to negotiate
with adjacent Valley Cities to create a joint police
and fire dispatch facility; and,
BE it further resolved that it is the intent of the City
Council to enter into interlocal agreements with participating Valley Cities
if such agreements meet the needs of the City.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON,
at a regular meeting thereof this 3rd day of May 1976
