PASS A 2013 TRANSPORTATION INVESTMENT PACKAGE.
MOVED BY ROBERTSON, SECONDED BY DUFFIE THAT THE PROPOSED RESOLUTION BE
ADOPTED AS READ.*
Councilmember Robertson noted that the 11 Whereas clauses in the ordinance speak to the importance
of transportation to Tukwila and the region. Other agencies that support the package include Sound
Cities Association and the cities of Kent, Renton, Shoreline, Kirkland, Kenmore and Auburn. He
explained that the legislature's special session will be ending soon, so it is important to forward this
resolution to them in time.
Councilmember Kruller stated that Sound Cities Association brought this issue to the Council's attention.
Adding Tukwila's voice to the regional and coordinated resolutions by other cities was felt to be the best
approach, and also supports the City's legislative agenda adopted for 2013. She expressed appreciation
for the support of City Administration and the City Clerk's Office in moving this issue forward on an
expedited basis.
*MOTION CARRIED 7 -0 TO ADOPT RESOLUTION NUMBER 1795.
