RESOLUTION NO. 555
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA APPROVING
A JOINT COMPREHENSIVE SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT
PLAN AND'AUTHORIZING AN INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT
WITH KING COUNTY
WHEREAS, CITY OF TUKWILA Resolution No. 270, dated
October 18, 1971 authorized KING COUNTY, WASHINGTON, to prepare
a plan for the City of Tukwila's solid waste managment for
inclusion in the County Comprehensive Plan; and
WHEREAS, the City has completed all steps required by
law as conditions precedent to the adoption of a joint compre-
hensive solid waste management plan, as set forth in RCW 70.95,
RCW 35.63 and RCW 35.24; and
WHEREAS, said Plan will result in a cooperative,
coordinated, comprehensive solid waste management plan for the
disposal of all solid waste generated within all municipalities
and political subdivisions within the boundaries of King County;
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Tukwila considered
said joint Comprehensive Solid Waste Management Plan at a public
hearing on September 7, 1976,
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Tukwila,
Washington, does resolve as follows:
That the Joint Comprehensive Solid Waste
Management Plan for all jurisdictions within King
County, a copy of which is filed with the City Clerk
and by this reference made a part hereof, is hereby
approved as a plan for the adoption of a comprehensive
county -wide solid waste handling program which will
prevent land, air and water pollution and conserve the
natural economic resources of this area. The Mayor
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA,
WASHINGTON, at a regular meeting hereof this 4th day of October 1976.
is authorized to develop and execute with King County
an interlocal agreement to provide for the disposal
of solid waste collected in the City of Tukwila.
