VALUATION OF CONSTRUCTION Valuation for new construction and additions are calculated by the Department of Community Development prior to application submittal. Contact the Permit Coordinator at 431 -3670 prior to submitting application. In all cases, a valuation amount should be entered by the applicant. This figure will be reviewed and is subject to possible revision by the Building Division to comply with current fee schedules. BUILDING OWNER / AUTHORIZED AGENT If the applicant is other than the owner, registered architect/engineer, or contractor licensed by the State of Washington, a notarized letter from the property owner authorizing the agent to submit this permit application and obtain the permit will be required as part of this submittal. EXPI RATION OF PLAN REVIEW Applications for which no permit is issued within 180 days following the date of application shall expire by limitations. The building official may extend the time for action by the applicant for a period not exceeding 180 days upon written request by the applicant as defined in Section 304(d) of the Uniform Building Code (current edition). No application shall be extended more than once. A sign that is to be erected within Tukwila City limits must conform with the requirements of the Tukwila Sign Code. Your sign permit application does not meet this requirement, as noted below. 1. For a wall that is less than 500 square feet in area, the maximum allowable sign area is equal to 5% of the exposed building face area, which results in a maximum allowable sign area of 23.4 square feet for the 467.2 square foot wall (S94 -030). 2. The existing wall sign for Hair Designers Unlimited is 23.0 square feet for the .467.2 square foot wall. The wall sign proposed in S94 -042 is shown to be 7 square feet in sign area. The total sum of both wall sign areas (30 square feet) exceeds the maximum allowable sign area for the proposed wall. Due to the fact that your permit application does not meet Sign Code requirements, the City cannot approve permit S94 -042 If you choose to alter your proposal for Hair Designers Unlimited, you must submit a new sign permit application. Please keep in mind that the application requires three copies of the plan and elevation view drawings, and that the application review fee is $50.
