RESOLUTION NO 633
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON,
DECLARING ITS DESIRE AND INTENTION TO ESTABLISH A
SISTER CITY PROGRAM WITH THE CITY OF IKAWA -CHO,
JAPAN, AND TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO BEGIN THE PROCESS
OF ESTABLISHING SUCH A PROGRAM.
WHEREAS, the exchange of ideas, culture, students and other
programs made possible through sister cities affiliation creates better
international understanding and goodwill between the citizens of both
cities; and
WHEREAS, interest has been informally demonstrated on the part of
both the City of Tukwila and IKAWA -CHO to join through sister cities
affiliation,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON,
DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
The Mayor is hereby authorized to make formal contact
with the city officials of IKAWA -CHO to begin the
process of establishing a sister cities affiliation.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON,
at a regular meeting thereof this day of Qy/�2�_� 1978.
