RESOLUTION No 640
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON,
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO NEGOTIATE AND EXECUTE
AN AGREEMENT WITH SOUTH CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICT
FOR THE SALE OR LEASE OR COMBINATION OF THE SCHOOL
FACIL].TY KNOWN AS SOUTHGATE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL.
WHEREAS, the South Central School District has indicated
the desire to sell or lease certain property to the City of Tukwila, and
Whereas, the City of Tukwila has the desire to use this
property for a Community Center,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA,
WASHINGTON, DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The Mayor is authorized to negotiate and
execute an agreement with the South Central School District
for the sale or lease, or a combination thereof, of the
former school facility known as the Southgate Elementary
School.
Section 2. It is the intent of the City Council to
annex the property for municipal purposes and the City
Council requests that the Board of Directors state that
South Central School District has no objection to this
action.
Section 3. The City Council states as a matter of
policy that the facility will be used for municipal and
community purposes and will be available to the citizens
of the school district under the same rules and regulations
that it is available to the citizens of Tukwila.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON,
at a regular meeting thereof this 17th day of July 1978.
