HomeMy WebLinkAboutRes 0695 - Moratorium on Building Permits Affected by LID #28 (Repealed by Res 756)Repealed by Res 756 RESOLUTION NO. 695 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON ESTABLISHING A MORATORIUM ON THE ISSUANCE OF ANY BUILDING OR SITE PREPARATION PERMITS IN THE AREA AFFECTED BY LID #,28, SPECIFICALLY BEING ALL THAT AREA EAST OF MACADAM ROAD WHICH USES SOUTH 152ND STREET FOR ACCESS. WHEREAS, the Public 'forks Department, Fire Department, and Police Department has indicated that the size and slope of South 152nd Street represent a health and safety hazard to the residents of the present buildings being served by access by that street, and WHEREAS, there is no certainty that this health and safety hazard will be resolved in the near future, and WHEREAS, additional development prior to construction of a new street and related improvements would place more people and add additional traffic in an area already identified as posing a health and safety hazard to the area, and WHEREAS, the Mayor did send an administrative directive on February 16, 1978, to Kjell Stoknes, OCD Director, establishing a moratorium on building permits until a contract is let to construct the improvements under LID #28, and WHEREAS, the City Council recognizes the health and safety hazards in the area. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, 14ASHINGTON DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The City Council has reviewed the area of the proposed LID #28 and recognizes that there is presently a health and safety hazard to the residents of the area due to the narrowness and slope of South 152nd Street. Section 2. The City Council concurs with the administrative directive of the Mayor establishing a moratorium on the issuance of building permits for the area serviced by South 152nd Street lying east of Macadam Road. Section 3.• The Council further declares a legislative moratorium on the issuance of any building permits or site preparation permits on the area identified in Section 2 above, commonly known as the area included within the boundaries of LID #23.
