A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, AUTHORIZING SOLE SOURCE
PURCHASE OF TRACONEX SIGNAL CONTROLLERS FROM
U.S. TRAFFIC CORPORATION OF KENT; AND REPEALING
RESOLUTION NO. 1317.
WHEREAS, the City of Tukwila has funding for five signal controllers at:
Southcenter Parkway /S. 168th Street
West Valley Highway /Strander Boulevard
Interurban Avenue S. /Fort Dent Way
61st Avenue S. /Tukwila Parkway
42nd Avenue S. /S. 150th Street; and
WHEREAS, most of the City's existing controllers are Traconex sold by U.S. Traffic
Corporation; and
WHEREAS, these units have proven reliable and are the City of Tukwila's standard;
and
WHEREAS, having a single type controller reduces the amount of training for
personnel, inventory for parts, repair times, and other operation /maintenance features; and
WHEREAS, there is only one source of these units in Washington and they continue
to provide excellent service and help;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA,
WASHINGTON, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Public Works is authorized to buy Traconex signal controllers from U.S.
Traffic Corporation using the State of Washington contract bid prices through 2001 at the
state bid unit price of $12,202.30.
Section 2. Repealer. Resolution No. 1317 is hereby repealed.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE Y OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, at a
Regular Meeting thereof this 1.0 day of AL 81 SE 2001.
