AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, ADOPTING THE 2001 KING COUNTY
COMPREHENSIVE SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT PLAN; PROVIDING
FOR SEVERABILITY; AND ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Tukwila and King County have entered into long -term Solid Waste Interlocal
Agreements; and
WHEREAS, the City of Tukwila and King County adopted a Comprehensive Solid Waste Management Plan in
1992; and
WHEREAS, the City of Tukwila Staff, suburban cities staff, and the King County Regional Policy Committee have
reviewed, and commented on, the proposed 2001 Plan as final; and
WHEREAS, King County has adopted an updated Comprehensive Solid Waste Management Plan for 2001; and
WHEREAS, the proposed 2001 Plan builds on the accomplishments of the City of Tukwila, the suburban cities,
King County, and all of the citizens and businesses in our community in the areas of waste reduction and recycling;
and
WHEREAS, the 2001 King County Comprehensive Solid Waste Management Plan satisfies the requirement of
Chapter 70.95 of the Revised Code of Washington;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, HEREBY ORDAINS
AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City of Tukwila hereby adopts the 2001 King County Comprehensive Solid Waste Management
Plan as the Comprehensive Solid Waste Management Plan for the City of Tukwila.
Section 2. Severability. If any section, subsection, paragraph, sentence, clause or phrase of this ordinance should
be held to be invalid or unconstitutional for any reason by a court of competent jurisdiction, such invalidity or
unconstitutionality shall not affect the validity or constitutionality of the remaining portions of this ordinance or its
application to any other person or situation.
Section 3. Effective Date. This ordinance or a summary thereof shall be published in the official newspaper of
the City, and shall take effect and be in full force five (5) days after its passage and publication, as provided by law.

KING COUNTY COMPREHENSIVE SOLID WASTE
MANAGEMENT PLAN; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY;
AND ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
On o i Q- CJz the City Council of the City of Tukwila passed
Ordinance No. NY X adopting an updated Comprehensive Solid Waste
Management Plan for the City of Tukwila; providing for severability; and establishing an
effective date.
The full text of this ordinance will be mailed without charge to anyone who
submits a written request to the City Clerk of the City of Tukwila for a copy of the text.
