AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, DECLARING AN EMERGENCY
DUE TO DAMAGE CAUSED BY HIGH WINDS AND
AUTHORIZING EMERGENCY EXPENDITURES.
WHEREAS, severe winds struck the Puget Sound area on January 20,1993; and
WHEREAS, the winds resulted in damage to various public property; and
WHEREAS, City personnel were required to provide an emergency response to ensure
public safety and welfare; and
WHEREAS, substantial personnel costs were incurred in this response;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA,
WASHINGTON, HEREBY ORDAINS AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The Mayor is hereby authorized to expend unbudgeted funds for the
purposes of providing damage control and repair to public facilities caused by the
windstorm.
This ordinance or a summary thereof shall be published in the official newspaper of the City,
and shall take effect and be in full force five (5) days after passage and publication as
provided by law.
