HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrd 1656 - 1993 Budget Amendment - Public Safety Resources s ii �9�a�� Tu kwila it o Washington Ordinance No. 1119 -5 4 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, AMENDING THE 1993 BUDGET ADOPTED BY ORDINANCE NO. 1642 TO APPROPRIATE NEW ADMISSIONS TAX REVENUES, TRANSFER CRIMINAL JUSTICE FUNDING AND ADD ADDITIONAL FIRE AND POLICE PERSONNEL EXPENDITURES; AND ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City desires to provide public safety resources to meet the health, safety and welfare needs of its citizens, and WHEREAS, the City has additional funding available from the establishment of an admissions tax for three new firefighter positions, and WHEREAS, the City desires to allocate Criminal Justice Funding for three new patrol officer positions; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, DO HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The following revenue and expenditure program categories in the 1993 budget, as adopted by Ordinance No. 1642, passed by the City Council on December 7, 1992, are hereby amended to read as follows: General Fund Revenues: Admissions Tax 000 316 200 131,000 10 month revenue estimate Expenditures: Police: Salaries Wages 000 10 521 220 10 100,000 Personnel Benefits 00010 521 220 20 25,000 Supplies 00010 521 220 30 12,500 11 months costs for 3 patrol officers Criminal Just. Fund 000 10 594 210 40 <137,500> Reallocation to fund 3 police officers Fire: Salaries Wages 000 11 522 20010 108,000 Personnel Benefits 000 11 522 200 20 17,000 Supplies 000 11 522 200 30 6,000 11 months costs for 3 firefighters Total General Fund Expenditures: 131,000 Section 2. Ordinance No. 1642, passed by the City Council on December 7, 1992, is hereby amended by revising the summary of totals of estimated revenues and appropriations and the aggregate total to reflect the foregoing increases in revenues and appropriations as set forth in Section 1 of this ordinance. Section 3. The Finance Director is hereby authorized and instructed to effectuate the necessary changes in the 1993 budget and to make all necessary and appropriate line item entries and adjustments in order to reflect the increases to revenues and appropriations as set forth in this ordinance. Section 4. Severability. If any section, sentence, clause or phrase of this ordinance should be held to be invalid or unconstitutional by a court of competent jurisdiction, such invalidity or unconstitutionality shall not affect the validity or constitutionality of any other section, sentence, clause or phrase of this ordinance. Section 5. Effective Date. This ordinance or a summary thereof shall be published in the official newspaper of the City, and shall take effect and be in full force five (5) days after passage and publication as provided by law.
