HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrd 1654 - 1992 Budget Amendment - General Fund Regarding Retail Sales and Use Tax ALA, gtrr =mss_ City o T Washington Ordinance No. It ff�l AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, AMENDING THE 1992 BUDGET, ADOPTED BY ORDINANCE NO. 1618, TO APPROPRIATE UNANTICIPATED ESTIMATED LOCAL RETAIL SALES AND USE TAX FOR THE GENERAL FUND AND MAKE UNANTICIPATED TRANSFERS AND ADJUSTMENTS TO PROGRAM EXPEN- DITURES; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND ESTABLISH- ING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City desires to budget for unanticipated expenditures; and WHEREAS, additional funding authority is necessary to supplement various General Fund departments; and WHEREAS, the City desires to provide appropriate levels of service; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, HEREBY ORDAINS AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The following program categories in the 1992 budget, as adopted by Ordinance No. 1618, passed by the City Council on December 16, 1991, are hereby amended to read as follows: GENERAL FUND Revenues: Local Retail Sales Use Tax 000 313 100 S 150.000 Expenditures: Other Services Charges 000 03 516 200 40 50,000 Labor negotiation increases Salaries Wages Overtime 000 10 521 220 10 80,000 Costs related to contract and overtime increases for Police Patrol Division Other Services Charges 000 10 523 600 50 20,000 Increase in jail costs Salaries Overtime 000 11 522 200 10 45,000 Increase in overtime for suppression Estimated Ending Fund Balance 000 20 291 800 <45.000> TOTAL GENERAL FUND EXPENDITURES 15_ Section 2. Ordinance No. 1618, passed by the City Council on December 16, 1991, is hereby amended by revising the summary of totals of estimated revenues and appropriations and the aggregate total to reflect the foregoing increases in revenues and appropriations as set forth in Section 1 of this ordinance. Section 3. The Finance Director is hereby authorized and instructed to effectuate the necessary changes in the 1992 budget and to make all necessary and appropriate line item entries and adjustments in order to reflect the increases to revenues and appropriations as set forth in this ordinance. Section 4. Severability. If any section, sentence, clause or phrase of this ordinance should be held to be invalid or unconstitutional by a court of competent jurisdiction, such invalidity or unconstitutionality shall not affect the validity or constitutionality of any other section, sentence, clause or phrase of this ordinance. Section 5. Effective Date. This ordinance or a summary thereof shall be published in the official newspaper of the City, and shall take effect and be in full force five (5) days after passage and publication as provided by law. Op /2 14' 9 2- the City Council of the City of Tukwila passed Ordinance No. (0 y amending the 1992 budget, adopted by Ordinance No. 1618, to appropriate unanticipated estimated local retail sales and use tax for the general fund and make unanticipated transfers and adjustments to program expenditures, providing for severability, and establishing an effective date.
