AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA,
WASHINGTON, FIXING THE AMOUNT OF COMPENSATION FOR CITY
COUNCIL MEMBERS, REPEALING SECTION 1 OF ORDINANCE 1354
AND AMENDING SECTION 1 OF ORDINANCE 1431 AND SECTION
2.04.230 OF THE TUKWILA MUNICIPAL CODE.
WHEREAS, City Council salaries were set at $400 by Ordinance 1354 adopted July 1, 1985, and
WHEREAS, in 1987, Ordinance 1431 amended Ordinance 1354 to add medical benefits for City
Council members, and
WHEREAS, Council salaries have fallen relative to other Valley cities over the years so that they
are in the bottom third of salaries,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA,
WASHINGTON, DO HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Compensation. Section 1 of Ordinance 1431 and Section 2.04.230 of the Tukwila
Municipal Code are hereby amended to read as follows:
2.04.230 Compensation. Pursuant to the provisions of RCW 35A.12.070, each member of
the City Council of the Cit of Tukwila whose term of office commences on or after the effective
date of Ordinance shall be compensated at the rate of $500 per month.
Section 2. Cost of Living Increases. Beginning January 1, 1994, Council salaries shall be
increased annually by 90 percent of the CPI -W for the Seattle area, calculated on a July to July basis.
Section 3. Repealer. Section 1 of Ordinance 1354, passed by the City Council on July 1, 1985, is
hereby repealed.
This ordinance or a summary thereof shall be published in the official newspaper of the City, and shall
take effect and be in full force five (5) days after passage and publication as provided by law.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, at a
Regular Meeting thereof this day of 1992.

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA,
WASHINGTON, FIXING THE AMOUNT OF COMPEN-
SATION FOR CITY COUNCIL MEMBERS, REPEALING
SECTION 1 OF ORDINANCE 1354 AND AMENDING
SECTION 1 OF ORDINANCE 1431 AND SECTION 2.04.230
OF THE TUKWILA MUNICIPAL CODE, AND ESTABLISH-
ING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
On October 19, 1992, the City Council of the City of Tukwila passed Ordinance No.
1637, fixing the amount of compensation for City Council members, repealing Section 1 of
Ordinance 1354 and amending Section 1 of Ordinance 1431 and Section 2.04.230 of the
Tukwila Municipal Code, and establishing an effective date.
The full text of this ordinance will be mailed without charge to anyone who submits a
written request to the City Clerk of the City of Tukwila for a copy of the text.
