ORDINANCE NO. 1 00
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, AMENDING
ORDINANCE 1547, AND CHAPTER 16.04 OF THE
TUKWILA MUNICIPAL CODE, ADOPTING THE 1991
WASHINGTON STATE BUILDING CODE, AND
ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Tukwila is required to adopt the State of Washington
State Building Code as amended by the State Building Code Council pursuant to RCW
19.27.031,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA,
WASHINGTON, DO HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Ordinance 1547 and Chapter 16.04 of the Tukwila Municipal Code
are hereby amended as follows:
16.04.030 Uniform codes adopted. Effective July 6, 1992, the following codes are
adopted and incorporated by reference as if fully set forth:
(1) The Uniform Building Code, 1991 Edition, including Appendix Chapters
11 (Agricultural Buildings); 32 (Reroofing); 35 (Sound Transmission
Control); 49 (Patio Covers); 55 (Membrane Structures); and standards
hereto as adopted by the International Conference of Building Officials
and as adopted by the State of Washington in Chapter 51 -20 WAC.
(a) Section 205 of the Uniform Building Code, 1991 Edition, is
amended to include: "Any person, firm, or corporation violating
any of the provisions of this Code shall be deemed guilty of a
misdemeanor, and each such person shall be deemed guilty of a
seperate offense for each and every day or portion thereof during
which any violation of any of the provisions of this Code is
committed, continued, or permitted, and upon conviction of any
such violation such person shall be punishable by a fine of not
more than $500 or by imprisonment for not more than 90 days, or
by both such fine and imprisonment. Anyone concerned in the
violation or failure to comply with the provisions of this Code,
whether directly committing the act or effecting the omission
constituting the offense or aiding or abetting the same whether
present or absent; and anyone who directly or indirectly counsels,
encourages hires, commends, induces or otherwise procures
another to violate or fail to comply with provisions of this Code is
and shall be an offender under the terms of this Code and shall be
proceeded against and prosecuted as such."
(b) Sections 3209 and 3210, Appendix Chapter 32 of the Uniform
Building Code, 1991 Edition, is amended to exclude Group R,
Division 3, single family dwellings. A building permit will not be
required for reroofing single family residences.
(2) The Uniform Plumbing Code and the Uniform Plumbing Code Standards,
1991 Edition, published by the International Association of Plumbing and
Mechanical Officials, and as adopted by the State of Washington in
Chapter 51 -26 WAC, and as adopted or amended by King County, which
King County Code is hereby included by reference. The Seattle King
County Plumbing Board of Appeals is hereby authorized to hear and
determine all matters subject to appeal as specified in such Code.
(3) The Uniform Mechanical Code, 1991 Edition, including Chapter 22, Fuel
Gas Piping, Appendix B, as published by the International Conference of
Building Officials and as adopted by the State of Washington in Chapter
51 -22 WAC.
(4) The Uniform Code for the Abatement of Dangerous Buildings, 1991
Edition as adopted by the International Conference of Building Officials.
This ordinance or a summary thereof shall be ublished in the official newspaper of the
City, and shall take effect and be in full force five (5) days after passage and publication
as provided by law.

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, AMENDING
ORDINANCE 1547, AND CHAPTER 16.04 OF THE
TUKWILA MUNICIPAL CODE, AND ADOPTING THE
1991 WASHINGTON STATE BUILDING CODE, AND
ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
On qu.2,..? the City Council of the City of Tukwila passed Ordinance
No. /G 3k3 amending the Ordinance 1547 and Chapter 16.04 of the Tukwila
Municipal Code, adopting the 1991 Washington State Building Code, and establishing
an effective date.
The full text of this ordinance will be mailed without charge to anyone who
submits a written request to the City Clerk of the City of Tukwila for a copy of the text.
