ORDINANCE NO. /5 7&)
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, AMENDING
SECTION 9.08 OF THE TUKWILA MUNICIPAL CODE TO ADOPT BY REFER-
ENCE RCW 46.30.020 AND RCW 46.30.040 LAWS REQUIRING PROOF OF
LIABILITY INSURANCE, PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE AND
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, provision should be made in the Tukwila Municipal Code for an ordinance
requiring of motorists' proof of liability insurance; and
WHEREAS, the Tukwila City Council desires to adopt an ordinance requiring motorists to
provide proof of liability insurance; and
WHEREAS, an ordinance providing for proof of liability insurance is in the interest of public
health, safety and welfare,
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Tukwila, Washington does hereby ordain
as follows:
Section 1. Section 9.08.010 Revised. Section 9.08.010 of the Tukwila Municipal Code entitled
"Adoption By Reference" is hereby amended to add the adoption by reference and all future
amendments thereto of the following state statutes:
RCW 46.30.020 Liabilitv Insurance or Other Financial Responsibility Required Viola-
tion Exceptions, and
RCW 46.30.040 Disnlav of Identification Card or Proof of Financial Responsibility
Penalty for Falsification
Section 2. Severabilitv. If any section, sentence, clause or phrase of this ordinance should be
held to be invalid or unconstitutional by a court of competent jurisdiction, such invalidity or
unconstitutionality shall not affect the validity or constitutionality of any other section, sentence,
clause or phrase of this ordinance.
Section 3. Effective Date. This ordinance shall be in force and effect five days after publication
of this ordinance which is hereby approved.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, at a regular
